Jay “sinatraa” Won has returned to Twitch with his Valorant live streams, but some viewers aren’t happy about it.

During a recent Valorant stream, the professional player and streamer was flamed by fans and viewers for queuing up with his former Sentinels teammate, Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan. The streamer then broke down in tears on stream due to the response.

sinatraa took a hiatus from streaming after being accused of sexual abuse by his ex-girlfriend Cleo. His return to Twitch was celebrated by some, but many fans are still on the fence. It’s been some time that sinatraa has been streaming Valorant regularly, but viewers weren’t happy about him playing with ShahZam.

sinatraa recently played a ranked match with his former in-game leader, but the game took an ugly turn. ShahZaM’s Twitch chat badgered him for playing alongside an accused abuser. The chat started implying that ShahZaM stood with sinatraa in spite of the accusations.

The two had only played a few maps together when sinatraa took notice of the chat. The streamer clearly looked a bit frustrated while quietly observing the messages. It was evident that he was struggling to keep his cool as he kept turning off his webcam until round 18, when he finally broke down into tears.

“That’s what happens when I play with other streams, that’s why I don’t do it, because the chat just attacks them nonstop,” sinatraa said.

He continued to stream more Valorant but looked visibly upset. ShahZaM responded by turning sub mode on in his chat. The Sentinels skipper denied insinuations made against him and apologized for accepting sinatraa’s invite to play on stream.

“Don’t think that I’m taking a stance or making a statement or some bullshit, I do not support rape.” ShahZaM said.

Official investigations by law enforcement are still underway regarding Cleo’s accustaions against sinatraa. In the meantime, sinatraa has been suspended by Riot Games for six months for refusing to cooperate with the Valorant developer’s own investigation.

Will sinatraa return to competitive Valorant?

While sinatraa has been suspended by Riot Games’ from all official Valorant events, he’s not restricted from streaming his own Valorant games on Twitch. The ultimate verdict is still unknown since the investigation from Riot’s end was stymied due to sinatraa’s lack of cooperation. Considering the ambiguity of the situation, Sentinels recently replaced its star player with Cloud9 streamer Tyson “TenZ” Ngo in a massive deal, so it’s unclear whether sinatraa will ever return to competitive play.

Sentinels went on to win the first major international Valorant tournament with TenZ playing in sinatraa’s place, defeating Fnatic 3-0 in the final. Even if sinatraa were cleared to return to play, it’s no sure thing that Sentinels would have room for him on its active roster.
