The Sims 4 community members are no strangers to bizarre glitches. They are bound to happen in such a complex life simulator. But the most recent glitch has Sims players feeling beyond disturbed, and many have demanded that developers fix it immediately after seeing the potential for Sims incest.

A free update on July 26 added a lot of cool changes including body hair and new desires for Sims. But many players realized soon after that their Sims were expressing some horrifying feelings. Many Sims had suddenly found themselves lusting after their own family.

Why are Sims suddenly falling in love with family members?

After the recent update, players have started reporting some concerning bugs. Some family members are rapidly auto-aging, while others are falling in love with their own brother or mother. With teens turning to elders in mere minutes and sims daydreaming about woo-hooing their siblings, the community is left distraught and alarmed.

Electronic Arts decided to respond to the panic on Twitter, but fans noticed they were missing a key issue.

“Hey Simmers! We are currently investigating instances involving Sims auto-aging up in saves using the Short or Long lifespan. We recommend temporarily playing in or creating new saves with the default/“normal” lifespan, as we work towards a solution,” developers tweeted.

Sims players responded with alarm that the incest issue wasn’t brought up and addressed. They begged developers to address the fact that their Sims had inappropriate feelings for their own siblings.

Finally, a quality designer took to Twitter to reveal that the team was aware of the incest issue. Devs had apparently reproduced it themselves… whatever that means. But they reassured the Sims 4 community that a fix was being worked on.

“We’re looking to get it fixed ASAP, thanks for all the bug reports, we appreciate it,” the designer tweeted.
