shroud thinks Breeze is the best map in Valorant, and this is why

Valorant’s newest map Breeze has received a mixed response from the game’s players thus far, but Twitch streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek thinks it’s the best map in the game.

Breeze is the latest map in Valorant with tons of stuff for players to sink their teeth into. Initially, fans seemed to enjoy Breeze’s long duels, but most players are now complaining about the large size of the map. shroud has a valid explanation for why casual players are not enjoying Breeze.

“I think all the top players are going to love it, and everyone else is going to hate it. The synergy between all the characters and shit is huge. You don’t just have one smoke blocking a hallway, and you’re good to go. You need to work together and use real utility to take a site,” shroud said.

Valorant Episode 2 Act 3 brings new map Breeze

Valorant Episode 2 Act 3 rolled in a new tropical location that is unlike any other map. Breeze has an extended middle area and vast bomb point, unlike Icebox with enclosed sites combined with tight chokepoints. The large map calls for thorough teamwork and utility usage, making it a challenging location to tackle in solo games. While casual players may struggle a bit, proper teams are going to have a better time on Breeze.

shroud stressed that teamwork and utility usage on this advanced map are a must to win. In pro games, heavy communication and coordination can help take control of Breeze’s double-mid area. Site takes becomes easier when you have your teammates’ support, but a lack of coordination may make this map a nuisance in casual games. For other maps in Valorant, agents like Viper and Brimstone can singlehandedly break open a site with their controller kits. However, it may be impossible to cut down enemy defences on Breeze due to multiple open angles.

Unlike other Valorant players, Shroud has taken a shine to Breeze. The streamer thinks that it’s “the best map” Riot Games has delivered so far.

“It’s a little worrisome because I think it’s the best map they’ve ever made. So, if it gets bad feedback, then they might not ever make a map like it again. I think this is the direction that [Riot Games] needs to go with their maps in the future,” shroud said.

Fortunately, the developer is well aware of the steep learning curve and extensive size of Breeze. Riot Games has added a Breeze-only queue for two weeks so that players can familiarize themselves with the map before jumping into competitive games. So far, casual players are still at the crossroads regarding new location, but players may eventually warm up to the beachy vibe of Breeze.
