Former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro Michael “shroud” Grzesiek has proven himself to be one of the top streamers in the world. During his first week back on popular streaming platform Twitch, shroud became the most-watched content creator there.

As shroud continues to be popular for his latest Valorant streams, fans have started to wonder if he’d ever play the game professionally. He was once a very successful CSGO player, primarily while competing for Cloud9. With a number of notable CSGO veterans hopping over to Valorant, it seemed like a possible career move for shroud now that he’s dominated Twitch once again.

shroud decided to finally address the speculations on a stream over the weekend.

“Would I join 100 Thieves if they offered? No,” shroud responded to a fan’s inquiry in the chat. “I would never join a team.”

While shroud made it quite clear that he was not interested in going pro in Valorant, he did note that he’d play competitively as a stand-in if a team ever needed him to. shroud said he would always welcome playing “as a fifth or if they just don’t have people and need a fill.”

There are most definitely fans of shroud that were disappointed by the news that he wouldn’t be going pro in Valorant or likely playing in any tournaments in the near future. But other fans may be relieved, since playing competitively would take away from his time on stream. Shroud often streams for more than 10 hours per day, playing games including Valorant, Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and even DayZ. Playing Valorant professionally would certainly take away from his variety.
