Apex Legends fans are starting to get a bit worried about what used to just be a prop in the game.

Leviathans, the giant, long-legged creatures calmly traversing the waters beyond Kings Canyon, have started to get closer to the map. The dinosaur-like titans have slowly moved closer to the island’s southern border. Usually placed completely out of bounds, one of the creatures is actually just outside the Water Treatment.

Called Leviathans, the calm beasts have solely served as part of the environmental design since Apex Legend’s release. But now it seems that they’re up to something. And if it’s anything like the Fortnite volcano, the Leviathans could be preparing for mass destruction. Kings Canyon may be seeing some major changes in Season 2.

And players aren’t the only ones discussing this possibility.

Apex Legend’s characters are also well aware of the Leviathans strange activity. In a recent Instagram post, Respawn Entertainment shared a data log from the game’s world.

“L001 is moving southbound at a rate of ten klicks per hour after a sixteen-hour rest interval. This is yet another significant rest-time reduction. We suspect L001 is exhibiting signs of territorial behavior or distress,” it reads.

The message ends with the character stating that they will continue gathering data so they can figure out the cause of the Leviathans’ sudden movement.

The use of the word “klicks,” a military term for kilometers, suggests that the person keeping the logs might be Bangalore.

On the southeast part of Kings Canyon, there’s a Repulser that keeps the Leviathans at bay with a barrier. On the Origin login page, players can see the monsters on the island and a broken Repulser tower to their right.

Season 2 is coming to Apex Legends on July 2. This will bring the addition of new legend Wattson and hopefully reveal the mystery of the approaching Leviathans.
