PUBG Mobile North American Super League coming to 16 US cities
PUBG Mobile is getting its own league.
Super League Gaming revealed details for the upcoming PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile North American Super League. The city-based league will take place in 16 cities across the United States.
The PUBG Mobile North American Super League will feature a quarterly City Champs tournament as well as community social nights starting in December 2019. According to the official website, the tournaments will be held at Dave & Busters in the selected cities, with participants receiving exclusive branded swag and the chance to complete special challenges. At the competitive social event, a Player of the Month will also be selected. They will receive a OnePlus Pro Kit.
“Whether you’re new to the game or a veteran collector of chicken dinners, come out to Dave & Buster’s to hang out with other PUBG MOBILE players,” the website reads.
The cities participating in the league include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, and Washington D.C.
PUBG Mobile gets its own competitive league
The top players from each of these locations will get a chance to rep their city at the City Championship. This will be streamed on Twitch through Super League’s and PUBG Mobile’s channels.
OnePlus is the official smartphone sponsor for the league. They are a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has invested in esports before. They are a partner sponsor of Fnatic.
OnePlus CMO Kyle Kiang said Super League offers “direct access to a key customer base” and provides a “perfect compliment to our professioanl esports partnerships.” Kiang also noted that many of OnePlus’ customers are also PUBG Mobile gamers, inspiring the company to ensure that their devices deliver “the best possible gameplay experience.”
“Super League is thrilled to welcome OnePlus as our first mobile hardware sponsor as part of our partnership with Tencent to bring premium competitive PUBG Mobile experiences to mobile gamers across the U.S.,” Super League CEO Ann Hand said.
Hand stated that the social gameplay nights “exemplify a shared committment to positive and inclusive gameplay.” They are also envisioning a “vibrant competition” throughout the 2019-2020 season thanks to the City Champs aspect of the league.
