PUBG Mobile adds subscription services for daily loot and more

The popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds mobile game has added Prime and Prime Plus subscriptions. 

These subscription models are targeted at more avid players who check the game on a daily basis. Players with these subscriptions will receive Unknown Cash, discounted prices on loot crates, and will be enabled to make in-game purchases with Battle Points. 

The basic Prime subscription costs 99 cents and offers five Unknown Coins daily. These subscribers will also have access to in-game purchases using Battle Points.

At $9.99, Prime Plus is a bit pricier but offers many more rewards. Players at this tier will receive 20 Unknown Coins daily, 10 RP points per day, and will also receive in-game loot each day. These subscribers will additionally have the ability to make in-game purchases with Battle Points, and will receive a 50 percent discount for entry into the Classic Crate Lottery each day. 

Prime Plus is currently on sale for $4.99 per month. 

PUBG Mobile West was the sixth highest grossing mobile game in February, just behind big names like Clash of Clans and Pokemon GO. Last December, revenue for PUBG Mobile increased at a staggering rate of 166 percent week-over-week for the seven days ending on Black Friday. Tencent announced that 30 million people played daily around that time, and that the app had ben downloaded 200 million times over the span of eight months. 

This makes PUBG’s mobile game more popular than the mobile version of Fortnite. 

Mobile gaming continues to grow quite rapidly. Consumers spent $8.2 billion on digital games across console, PC, and mobile in February, which was up two percent compared to last year. According to Super Data, the increase in sales came primarily from mobile gaming, which was up nine percent.
