Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 has been delayed, and we still don’t know the exact release date.

Mob’s episodic horror video game has been in development for a year, and fans eagerly anticipated a release in 2023. After a string of teasers and VHS tapes, the devs confirmed that the game is set to be launched at the end of 2023, but there has been a change of plans.

Taking to X, Mob shared that Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 won’t be coming out in 2023. They’re taking more time for game development.

“We made this decision to give us enough time to release Chapter 3 at the quality we’re striving for. Simply put, the game is not ready yet. Our developers have been putting in an extraordinary effort to give you the best possible experience we can deliver,” Mob Entertainment explained.

Fans took the news well, lauding the developer for clarity. But the exact release date is still unknown. According to Mob, the game will be pushed “several additional weeks into 2024,” but this vague timeline could mean anything from 15 days to two months.

Even if the fans were upset with the delay, they were too distracted to express it. Along with the announcement, Mob has also shared the first gameplay trailer, which is ripe with easter eggs and lore.

The trailer opens with a VHS computer error, warning employees of some danger. There’s also mention of a flower, and it seems that The Player will be tasked to find it inside PlayCare. Huggy Wuggy, Poppy, and The Prototype make an appearance, along with the main protagonist, CatNap, and there’s plenty there to unpack for lore enthusiasts.

The whole theme of Chapter 3 is revenge. Poppy is back to avenge her friends and the children against The Prototype, but she needs your help.
