YouTuber Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg is no longer accepting streaming donations.

PewDiePie called the entire donation process “weird” in a recent stream. The famous YouTuber made a video on October 15 where he donated to Twitch streamers. While a wholesome concept, the video actually made PewDiePie balk at the idea of donations once and for all.

“It was actually when I did my donating to Twitch streamer video that made me realize just how weird it is to donate money to people. Like if someone gave me that money on the street I would be like, ‘What the fuck, no.’ But for some reason if I’m streaming, ‘Pay me.’ I don’t get it. It just makes no sense,” PewDiePie said.

The meme extraordinaire said he appreciates the chatting, but will no longer accept donations.

PewDiePie has over 107 million subscribers on YouTube, making him the most popular content creator in the world. He signed a multi-million dollar streaming deal with YouTube in March to do more streaming on the platform as well. This has made him not just a popular YouTuber, but one of the most recognizable streamers as well.

Being such a sensation has obviously made PewDiePie quite a killing. It’s estimated that PewDiePie’s net worth is between $30 and $50 million, although it’s never been officially confirmed. But PewDiePie recognized that not everyone makes such an insane living off of content creation.

“I’m not judging other people. From my perspective, it doesn’t make sense. So I’m not accepting it, I don’t think I need it,” he said.

This isn’t a totally new concept for PewDiePie. He’s been donating all of his subscriber money to different charities each month since June. The cause is always picked by his fans.

Popular Twitch streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys recently did something similar to PewDiePie, setting her donation cap to $5, telling followers to treat themselves instead.
