Another year, another plea for the return of Pink Mercy.
There is no doubt that one of the most popular Overwatch 2 skins of all time is Pink Mercy. The skin is from a fundraiser in 2018 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Enough Pink Mercy skins were purchased to raise $12.7 million.
Since then, the Pink Mercy skin has not been available. Overwatch 2 players have begged Blizzard to do another fundraiser in hopes of getting another chance at the skin. Others have demanded its return in general, but Blizzard has never even hinted at the return of Pink Mercy.
It has now been five years, and fans are hoping the anniversary of the skin will prompt Blizzard to finally bring it back.
Earlier today, Overwatch Cavalry announced that this is the exact five-year anniversary of the Pink Mercy skin’s release. The tweet was meant to celebrate the Overwatch community’s contribution to women’s health and breast cancer prevention, but it ended up becoming a thread all about the hopeful return of Pink Mercy.
The replies were full of Overwatch 2 players begging for the Pink Mercy skin to return. But some players lashed out, claiming that others missed their chance by not donating in the first place. Others simply showed off their Pink Mercy skins to jealous onlookers, with one player even claiming someone offered them $400 for their account to obtain the coveted skin.
Said another player: “I have this skin, and while it’s not my favorite, I wear it all the time to make one tricks upset.”
It’s clearly a desirable skin after all these years. But Blizzard has yet to respond to the ongoing pleas for the return of Pink Mercy.
