XDefiant is off to a good start as the newest hero shooter on the block. And it looks like Ubisoft developers already have a lot planned for Year 1, including new factions that have since been leaked.

A recent leak showed a lot of exciting updates coming to XDefiant for anyone doubting the game’s staying power. This includes a new map and now some incoming factions, leaked by AgainTX.

New factions coming to XDefiant

A leak from AgainTX has shown some new factions in the works for XDefiant. The factions in Ubisoft’s shooter are what makes the game stand out, with each faction inspired by another IP like The Division, Far Cry, and Splinter Cell.

AgainTX has now shared that there are more factions “planned” for the game’s first year. This includes:

This news was met with excitement, especially the addition of Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin’s Creed. Assassins Creed is quite different from the FPS genre so turning that game into a faction seems the most unique for gamers hoping to shake things up.

One fan asked if upcoming battle passes would also be themed after these yet-to-be-released factions. AgainTX answered with a confident “yes” but so far nothing has been confirmed by Ubisoft regarding the upcoming factions.

But if AgainTX is to be believed, he also noted that even more wild faction inspirations are in store after Year 1. This would include The Crew and Rabbids for Year 2 unless things change. The concept of cars and chaotic rabbits inspiring factions definitely had players confused, amused, and skeptical.
