Riot Games is finally back with a new Champion Roadmap, including information about the last two champions that will complete the Viego saga.Â
In the recent Roadmap, Riot presented new information to fans about two upcoming champions. There had already been a bit of teasing about the two champions, but now it’s finally official that the next champion will be the “Sentinel of Light” and will be designed as a mid-lane marksman. After that, Riot will be releasing a “gloomy new yordle” which will be another midlaner, but this time a mage.Â
It’s time to give you some information on the upcoming champions, including:

It was announced at the start of the year that the three champions after Viego will be connected to him in the lore. The first was Gwen, who just released on April 15, and the next will be a marksman specifically designed for the mid lane. It’s expected that this champion will hit Summoner’s Rift this summer.Â
Over the years, several marksmen have been viable in the mid lane but none of them have been designed for it. The upcoming champion will be different, as Riot finally seems to want a marksman mainly for the mid lane. Up until now, champions such as Lucian, Corki, and Tristana have all been viable options in given meta’s but never been strictly associated with the lane.
After the Sentinel of Light makes its entrance to League of Legends, Riot will be bringing in a new yordle. It’s been a while since a new yordle has been released, but Riot has finally answered fans’ prayers.Â
The champion was originally scheduled to be released next, but Riot decided to give the gloomy new yordle a bit more time in development to “create some new tech to visually sell her source of power.”Â
From what we already know, the yordle will be a mid-lane mage and gets annoyed by champions dashing around her. This could be the first hint to a kit theme or a specific spell. It’s also known that she has moved away from being an artillery mage and will instead be closer to a classic mage.Â
More information about the new yordle will likely follow after the next champion has been released.Â
To end the Champion Roadmap with a bang, Riot gave the first look into the upcoming Udyr VGU. Udyr was recently voted by players to get the next VGU, but it will likely still be a while before it will be available for play on the server. Until then, Riot shared the first sketches made by Justin “RiotEarp” Albers, who has sketched the many forms of Udyr. These sketches are the first indicator of how Udyr will look after his VGU, but there will likely be much more to come in the next months.Â
To give fans an extra little teaser, Riot gave a minor bit of information about the champion that will start the next leg of the year. It will seemingly be a new marksman for the bot lane, that will “give you an electrifying glimpse into one of Runeterra’s most tenacious regions.”
