After weeks of hinting on social media, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has announced that he will be competing against Tyler “Ninja” Blevins in an intense League of Legends showdown with a lot of money on the line.
The two streaming superstars first spoke to a possible competition on June 11. MrBeast tweeted that Ninja “sucked,” causing Ninja to snap back at MrBeast. The streaming superstar stated that he would easily beat MrBeast in a League of Legends match, and that it wouldn’t even be close.
As fans got more riled up at the possibility of a competition between the two content creators, MrBeast decided to drop a mysterious tweet once again. This time, MrBeast tweeted on June 20 that a big announcement was coming, adding that Ninja was “trash.”
Now the details of the anticipated contest have been revealed.
On June 22, MrBeast tweeted that Ninja had accepted his offer. It was now official: MrBeast and Ninja would compete in a League of Legends match.
The event will take place on July 9 in Las Vegas, meaning the two will be competing in person along with their teams, with rosters that have yet to be announced. The livestreamed event will be a best-of-three series with the winning team getting $150,000.
While most of the details have been shared already, the team and rosters remain unknown. The streaming community is already speculating that big names from the League of Legends community may take part in the live competition, including Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp, Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi, and other well known League of Legends players and content creators. It’s also possible that we’ll see popular personalities such as Imane “Pokimane” Anys, who has plenty of experience playing League of Legends, involved in the contest.
For now, fans can only speculate as to who might join each streamers’ team. Meanwhile, MrBeast and Ninja are doing their best to get fans hyped up for the match.
“It’s game time MrBeast! You don’t stand a chance. See you in Vegas!” Ninja said.
