Mew2King addresses false rumors, reveals rare medical condition

As the Smash community continues to deal with ongoing sexual assault and rape allegations, Super Smash Bros. Melee veteran Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman felt the need to address a false accusation against him.

Mew2King went live on YouTube to prove that he had not actually masturbated on camera during a live event.

“That is a complete lie,” Mew2King said.

He then indicated that he could prove that this allegation was false. He said that he wasn’t prepared or ready to share the following sensitive information, but felt forced to do so in order to clear his name. Mew2King called it “shameful” and “embarassing,” and stated that he didn’t want to get made fun of for the rest of his life over it.

“I was circumcised very badly as an infant to the point where it’s pretty much impossible, or extremely difficult, to feel pleasure, orgasm, or any of that stuff,” Mew2King said.

Over the past few years, Mew2King has shared posts about his depression and even his wish to kill himself. He now revealed that the botched circumcision was “90% of the reason” for him feeling this way.

He had looked up information on his condition in the past and realized it was an even worse case than that of most other men going through the same trauma. He started to research how he could fix what had been done to him, and in his words, discovered only that he was “fucked.”

As Mew2King explained how there was “no hope” for him, he started to become even more upset.

“I don’t want to do this,” Mew2King said, almost deciding to end the livestream. “I’ll just finish. It’s basically hopeless to be happy. It will just stay the same or get worse as I age. People in my situation have pretty much no hope.”

At this point, Mew2King was receiving a lot of support from the Smash community tuning in to watch his livestream.

Mew2King reveal accusations

Mew2King stated that it’s been hard to be on social media and see everyone talk about finding sexual partners and how it’s one of the “ultimate end goals” in life, something he can’t really experience.

“Normally in Smash you just study and practice. You just get better. But this, you can’t really… And even if you can, it’s such a tiny amount that… How unfair it is… I always hate the unfairness. I don’t deserve this,” Mew2King said.

Despite his depression and the disheartening medical condition, Mew2King said he tries to be a “morally good” person even though he is a “stupid, frickin’ idiot socially” and doesn’t understand things. This is due to his Asperger syndrome, which he has come forward about in the past.

He stated that people would even come on his Twitch broadcasts in 2015 to make fun of him, which is why he doesn’t stream very often. He also had a chapter in his book about his depression and the botched circumcision, but was 70% sure was going to delete it because he never wanted anyone to know. But with the orgasm allegations coming out against him, Mew2King felt the need to finally come forward with this personal information.

“Not only did that not happen, I can’t make that happen. The amount of difficulty it takes is more than you can imagine,” Mew2King said.

Both on the livestream and on Twitter, the Smash community offered their support, but were also angry that Mew2King had been forced to reveal his condition before he was ready. Some even stated that Mew2King should sue them for “defamation.”

Whoever propagated this rumor and forced m2k to relive this trauma and then reveal it to everyone before he was ready to (if ever) should be ashamed and never welcomed back into the smash community

Mew2King speaks on Smash community’s ongoing sexual assault allegations

With everything happening in the Smash community, Mew2King had felt forced to share his story to avoid further allegations against him. But he also decided to speak on the accusations against other prominent players and personalities within the competitive scene. A lot of them were people he was very close with, played with, and practiced with. He had traveled and roomed with some of the accused players as well.

“I don’t know who to trust. I don’t know who is real. Everything I read just makes me sad,” Mew2King stated.

He said he was not sure who to believe. Mew2King was initially going to stream at the Sky House, where popular streamer and accused sexual harasser Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios lived. Mew2King even roomed with ZeRo at one point. But it didn’t ultimately work out, and Mew2King moved to Arizona instead.

During his time at the now-infamous Sky House, Mew2King said he spent most of his time on his phone on a top bunk or at Smash tournaments.

While Mew2King was able to clear his name of all allegations against him and anything related to other pro players he may have associated with in the past, it did come with a steep price. It was hard for the skilled Melee player to reveal the truth behind his depression, and he stated later on Twitter that he was taking a break from social media.
