The recent updates in GTA Online have been refreshing, garnering praises from the player base, but Rockstar has now enraged the wider community with the removal of 180+ vehicles.Â
In June, Rockstar tore the curtain on a sizable update in GTA Online dubbed San Andreas Mercenaries, which included a wealth of new content. The battle pass-inspired menu stood out the most, providing players with a new way to unlock content and organize their rewards. However, Rockstar has subtly removed player-favorite vehicles, prompting a backlash.Â
The San Andreas Mercenaries update has plucked out about 190 vehicles in GTA Online — and while Rockstar claims these are “lesser used vehicles,” players disagree. These removed vehicles haven’t completely left the game but will become available in future missions and jobs, as Rockstar pleases.Â
“Meanwhile, many lesser-used vehicles have been removed from dealership websites to streamline the shopping experience… These will occasionally be made available in other ways, including at The Diamond Casino & Resort’s Lucky Wheel,” Rockstar said.Â
But that’s not the only reason players are upset. These cars would stay purchasable for GTA+ subscribers. The “high rollers of LS” can still obtain these vehicles through Vinewood Car Club. So, in a way, Rockstar has placed generic vehicles behind a paywall.Â
After the update, regular players can only buy these vehicles through those who already own them and are willing to sell them in LS Car Meet.Â
