Team Liquid League of Legends streamer Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera took to Twitter to announce that he reached Grandmaster rank in less than a week.

“I’m so fucking happy right now,” IWillDominate said.

To achieve this astounding feat, IWillDominate hosted a 17 hour stream, playing 26 straight games with no duos.

“I can fucking do it,” he exclaimed on stream after accomplishing his goal. “Nothing can hold me back.”

The numbers

While playing for 17 hours straight is impressive in and of itself, fans also applauded IWillDominate for his expert gameplay. He may be retired, but he was still at the top of his game, with a win ratio of 69 percent. Posting 91 wins to just 41 losses, IWillDominate streamed 132 games though his journey.

Fans also noted that through it all, IWillDominate dealt with opposing players queue sniping him. Despite the mental strain that came with the long playing and streaming hours, the jungler continued to grind until the very end, even as viewers could see the physical toll being taken on him.

A long journey

IWillDominate has been a Team Liquid streamer since 2016. This comes after retiring from a long League of Legends career that began in 2010. While he seems to have found his stride as a member of Team Liquid, it wasn’t always so simple for the streamer who now has over 627,000 followers on Twitch.

In 2012, all of IWillDominate’s League of Legends accounts were permanently banned from the game due to toxic behavior. This was followed by a suspension from the North American League Championship Series for one year, which came soon after IWillDominate had finally started making a name for himself as a pro player.

IWillDominate responded by creating a new account to stream on. An account that would show his ability to stay away from toxic behaviors. He also continued to compete in events unrelated to LCS until his ban was lifted in 2013.

Despite a generally good showing throughout his Team Liquid carer, IWillDominate announced his retirement from competitive League after just one LCS game in 2016. After experimenting with roles as a coach, he finally settled into streaming full-time.
