The Istanbul Wildcats and 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports will face off in the TCL 2020 Winter Season finals on May 11. While the regular season was all about 1907 Fenerbahçe, the story in the playoffs has been very different. The Istanbul Wildcats, who qualified for the playoffs as the fourth seed, have had a perfect run so far with two clean 3-0 victories.

In the semifinals, 1907 Fenerbahçe struggled against Team Aurora. The team was barely getting by in the series and whenever they picked up a win, it was because the opponent let them have it. The main problem for 1907 Fenerbahçe is jungler Berk “Mojito” Kocaman, who played for Aurora last year. Mojito is unpredictable in the worst sense of the word. His ganks don’t seem to follow a coherent pattern and he doesn’t create any type of pressure on the map.

Mid laner Ersin “Blue” Gören has been performing well, but he’s not on the same page as Mojito. The jungler doesn’t seem to know how to effectively enable his laners and the team hasn’t been able to overcome that lack of support in the jungle.

On the other side of the map is jungler Hakan “Ferret” Mert Çakmak who has been carrying the Istanbul Wildcats. Ferret is aggressive without overcommitting and knows how to move around the map and make an impact. Ferret likes to play through the bottom lane and the bottom lane duo knows how to turn that help into a game-winning performance.

1907 Fenerbahçe is not looking that strong

The lines haven’t been released as of this writing, but the odds are likely to be in 1907 Fenerbahçe’s favor, even though the team isn’t a strong enough contender to justify it. The series against Aurora was sloppy and 1907 Fenerbahçe looked sloppy and disjointed. Something seemingly happened between the end of the regular season and playoffs that affected the team.

The Istanbul Wildcats are heading to the finals as the better team mechanically. From a drafting point of view, the Istanbul Wildcats also have the upper hand. 1907 Fenerbahçe keeps drafting compositions that are impossible to execute and junglers that cannot do anything unless they get help. The Istanbul Wildcats play it safe and draft for comfort. Those are the key differences that could put the Istanbul Wildcats ahead of its opponent, and make them a team worth looking at very closely for bettors.
