Taxi work is a classic occupation in the GTA franchise. In 2023, the Downtown Cab Company is ready to hire drivers in Los Santos. As part of the most recent DLC, Taxi work is now available in GTA Online. If this is the first time you’re experiencing it, we’ll teach you how to start and quit Taxi work in GTA Online step by step.

If you’ve played any game in the GTA series, you’ll have seen the yellow cabs driving around the city. These vehicles can be used to get from one point to another faster or as an alternative source of income when you need a few extra bucks.

GTA Online has a variety of career options for players to choose from. You could become the CEO of your own drug enterprise, a drug lab owner, or a gun for hire. Now, you can also be a taxi driver.

How to start Taxi work in GTA Online?

The first step is to make sure your game is updated to the latest version. Otherwise, some options might not show up.

Visit the Downtown Cab Company located across from the Diamond Casino. On the map, you can identify it as the little car icon. After visiting the location, you will receive a recruitment text message from the company.

In the building, walk through the double doors and follow the instructions to start working. The Dispatch will send you the client’s location, it will show on the mini-map. You can identify your client by the blue arrow on top of it. Stop the car as close to them as possible and use the command to get them in the car.

The client’s destination will show as a yellow route on the mini-map. Get to the location as fast as possible, avoiding any type of crash. The faster and safer you get there, the better the tips. Drop the client in the yellow circle and wait for the next job.

The pay for one job won’t be remarkable, but if you work with multiple consecutive clients, the pay will get better.

To quit Taxi work in GTA Online, just exit the car.

Keep in mind that to start a taxi job, you must come out of passive mode. Other players can attack you while you are driving a client. Dying during the job won’t erase the money you earned working. Once you respawn, the money will still be accessible. Take it to the bank as soon as possible.

Can you buy a taxi in GTA Online?

Yes, players can buy their own taxi for $650,000. Players who complete 10 taxi missions can buy a taxi for its trade price of $487,500. The taxi is labeled as a Pegasus vehicle, so players can request the delivery from the Pegasus Concierge. Taxis cannot be customized in any way.

GTA+ subscribers will receive a taxi for free and will earn twice the pay for every job. GTA+ Members have access to free taxi rides using the new Skip to Destination service.
