Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy players can get a head start in the Wizarding World by claiming special drops by watching Twitch streamers find their footing.

Hogwarts Legacy is now officially in early access, where it will remain until the official release on February 10, 2023. However, that shouldn’t stop anyone from diving into the experience now. In fact, players who boot up Hogwarts Legacy before the release get access to special Twitch drops to help them on their journey. Here’s what is available in Hogwarts Legacy drops on Twitch and how to claim them for yourself.

How to claim Twitch drops for Hogwarts Legacy

As with any Twitch drops, the first step is to connect your gaming account with Twitch. Make sure to create a WB Games account to use with Hogwarts Legacy and connect it to Twitch through your profile. Make sure to use the same WB Games account that you use to log in to Hogwarts Legacy. Using the wrong account can cut you off from receiving free rewards.

To qualify for the freebies, simply tune in to any Twitch streamer showing early access gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy. You can intently watch their gameplay or just leave the browser tab open while doing something else. Once enough time has passed, you will receive a notification from Twitch that you’ve qualified for a drop.

Viewers should expect to get one drop every 30 minutes, with all four possible drops possible in two hours. The rewards are all cosmetics with varying themes, with standouts including a set of dragon-themed glasses and a dashing purple suit.

The drops are tied to accounts, and players can only receive one batch of rewards. The website also stresses that players must confirm their drops in both their Twitch inventory and the official Hogwarts Legacy drops page before they will appear in-game.

Hogwarts Legacy early access drops are available from February 7 to 24, 2023. Players can start claiming their drops now, but those who didn’t pre-order Hogwarts Legacy will still be able to claim them in the release version of the game.

What’s Twitch giving away in Hogwarts Legacy?

The first batch of Twitch drops for Hogwarts Legacy includes the following set of items.

All four items are purely cosmetic, offering new ways for your wizard or witch to express themselves through fashion. The items don’t seem to follow any particular theme, but they are all fairly flashy compared to the game’s starting gear. The lack of multiplayer means that there really only there for roleplaying, but that makes plenty of sense in a Harry Potter spinoff RPG.

This is just the first round of Twitch drops for Hogwarts Legacy, with more rewards likely coming in the future. In addition to drops, the newest Harry Potter game could also feature exclusive content through Twitch Prime, such as more in-game consumables or cosmetics.
