Hogwarts Legacy has robust customization, allowing players to create characters that look just like them. The basic options are good, but there is an opportunity to improve the character’s appearance as you advance in the game. If you are wondering how to change your appearance in Hogwarts Legacy, here is everything you need to know.
The clothes in Hogwarts Legacy, better known as Gear, fall into six categories:
Each item improves a determined stat. For example, the Autumn Jumper Uniform, which is part of the Outfits category, improves defense. All gear can be upgraded using materials like Jobberknoll feathers, Niffler fur, or toad warts. The higher the level, the higher the stats. At level three, this item grants over 18 points in defense.
In the menu, you can go to the Gear tab and change the outfit of your character. While this changes the clothes, the general appearance of your character doesn’t change. If you want to modify your haircut, eyes, and complexion, you must venture outside of Hogwarts.
The only way to change the appearance of your character is through Madam Snelling’s Tress Emporium located in Hogsmeade. On the map, the store is identified with a pair of scissors.
Madam Snelling can change the following features:
These changes are not free. Players must pay 20 Galleons for each modification desired. It is a considerable investment, make sure you are happy with the character’s appearance at the beginning of the game.
As you advance through the game you will unlock more gear storage. However, it is not necessary to store unused gear. Some items have better stats than others. Ideally, you would keep the ones with better stats.
Selling unwanted items is pretty simple. The first step is to get access to Hogsmeade, you can unlock it after completing the early quests in the main story.
Once in Hogsmeade, interact with the shopkeepers who would happily take your items in exchange for credit. The stores where you can sell your items are:
Madam Snelling’s Tress Emporium is the only store that doesn’t buy items from you.
Players need money in Hogwarts Legacy to advance. You will need to buy ingredients and other items. As you complete the main story, you will get some money, but this is not enough. There are a wide variety of collectibles you can gather or side quests you can complete to earn money.
One of the easiest options to get Galleons is finding the Eye Chests. These are scattered across Hogwarts, and you can earn up to 5,000 Galleons.
