HooXi just outfragged the rest of G2 against Ecstatic
The insane Cinderella story of G2 Esports’ captain Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen adds a new chapter after the Dane went beast mode against Ecstatic.
G2’s in-game leader HooXi has solidified his name as a top-level player after being a popular meme in the CSGO community. His meteoric rise from ironic gigachad to actual gigachad is a huge story in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but he just one-upped his own reputation. In an RMR match against Ecstatic, HooXi scored an insane HLTV rating of 2.21.
The match took place as part of the European Regional Major Rankings event, which determines which teams will go on to compete at the Rio Major in November 2022. Ecstatic and G2 Esports matched up against each other in the first round of the A division. While G2 Esports was heavily favored to win, no one expected the ensuing 16-0 blowout on Ancient. Even more so, fans never even dreamed of HooXi soaring above his teammates on the scoreboard.
HooXi earns 2.21 HLTV rating against Ecstatic
In G2 Esports’s 16-0 shutout of Ecstatic, HooXi earned a 2.21 HLTV rating with 23 kills and 11 deaths.
The bulk of that score comes from 23 kills across just 16 rounds, which earned the captain an abusrd 151.4 damage per round. HooXi also scored several multi-kills including a skill triple spray against a full buy. Needless to say, HooXi won the MVP vote with more than 96% of fans choosing him. Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač tied for second place at 18 kills each.
HooXi also had the most deaths of any G2 player, which is a byproduct of his extremely aggressive CT positioning on Ancient. He jumped from corner to corner surprising Ecstatic’s players and picking up trades from his teammates. While not the most surprising of stomps, HooXi’s stellar form could help G2 Esports earn a trip to Rio de Janeiro at the RMR.
