Here's how Fortnite Crew members can receive their free emote

Epic Games introduced the Fortnite Crew in December, and new members are having issues.

Fortnite Crew launched in December with a lot of bugs, including many of its new members seeing an abundance of error messages and delays. To make up for these mistakes, Epic is now offering a free emote exclusively for Fortnite Crew members. Players must have a subscription to the program to get this “Members Only” emote.

The emote is a pretty fun one. When two Fortnite Crew members activate the emote, both players will perform a secret handshake that ends in a glittery yellow heart. It’s most likely a handshake meant for Fortnite Crew members only, but players everywhere will probably memorize this hilarious emote pretty quickly.

How to get the Members Only Fortnite emote

Unlike the frustration of dealing with the Fortnite Crew bugs back in December, getting the free emote is actually quite easy. All players have to do is be subscribed to Fortnite Crew and then log into Fortnite between now and February 15, 2021.

The emote will disappear after that date and won’t be able to be earned again. But Epic has noted that the emote will return for members in the future. So far, players were not told when it will return or in what fashion.

What is the Fortnite Crew?

The Fortnite Crew is a monthly subscription service that offers exclusive outfit bundles for avid Fortnite players. According to Epic’s official page about the membership, they curate “special items” each month, including an exclusive new outfit and at least one matching accessory.

In January, the Fortnite Crew pack features a Green Arrow skin inspired by the show “Arrow” on CW. It also comes with the tactical quiver back bling and boxing glove pickaxe.

Once subscribed, how to get items each month?

The subscription is linked to a player’s “primary platform,” either on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, or Switch. It can’t be transferred to another platform unless the subscription is canceled. Log into the primary platform each month to access the content.

Remember that V-Bucks purchased on one console cannot be spent on another platform.

What’s in a Crew Pack?

Each month, subscribers to the Fortnite Crew will get a new outfit and at least one accessory. All of the items in the pack are exclusive to Fortnite Crew members, meaning they’re only available to Fortnite Crew members. They will never be sold or given away to non-members.
