Elden Ring is going offline multiple times over the next few days, as was announced on Twitter, here are the times of all the outages.

Elden Ring has taken the gaming world by storm. The FromSoftware action RPG has been a smash hit with all sorts of gamers. Multiplayer PvE and PvP have become large parts of many peoples’ experiences, but both will be going down in the near future. Here’s what the publisher’s plans for the game are.

Why is Elden Ring going offline?

Elden Ring’s multiplayer options will be going down at scheduled intervals to improve the multiplayer experience for players. The game enjoyed a hugely successful launch, but it wasn’t without some hitches. The outages will help to tune up the game’s multiplayer experience for both PvE and PvP.

During this time, players will effectively be playing in offline mode. Though this will prevent players from partying up or invading each other, it will not stop NPC summons or invasions.

When is Elden Ring going offline

Elden Ring will go offline on February 28 and March 1.

There will be one-hour outages that will last from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. PT in North America and 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. CET for Europeans. Those times are based on the Steam version of the game, with other versions seeing outages slightly earlier. These outages will be staggered based on platform, with each platform going offline for one hour. PlayStation will go offline for the first hour, Xbox for the second, and Steam going offline last.

All of the changes will hopefully be compressed to a short time frame so players can get back to either helping or killing each other quickly.

Summoning has become more forgiving in Elden Ring, though players will still have to fast travel to find the materials to craft the consumable items that grant the ability to summon friends into their world. By speaking to the merchant at the Church of Elleh, players can buy a crafting kit that allows them to make ammunition and other consumables.

Players can craft items that let them see summoning signs left by cooperative players as well as invaders looking for a fight. Many bosses’ entrances will be flooded with these summoning signs from players who want the chance to face that boss again in order to farm extra runes.
