The month of scares has begun and Apex Legends will be celebrating the holiday season with its first Halloween event.

Previous Apex Legends events have been inspired by the game’s in-universe lore and character backstories. None of the events have been based on real-world holidays. Other popular competitive games such as League of Legends or Fortnite have featured Halloween events and received plenty of positive reaction from their respective communities. Now Apex Legends is getting into that same holiday spirit and launching its own Halloween-themed event, according to Pathfinder voice actor Chris Edgerly.

Edgerly confirmed the event’s existitance during an interview with esports news website Dextero.

“The Halloween event coming up is going to be simply amazing…Get ready to see some creepy, scary, kick-ass designs. Can’t say any more than that, unfortunately,” Edgerly said.

The voice actor also mentioned that Pathfinder would have a big role in the event but didn’t provide any further clues.

Other evidence supports existence of Apex Legends Halloween event

A photo of a Gibraltar cosmetic in which the legend is dressed as Frankenstien’s monster was leaked back in August. Additionally, data miners have uncovered some clues suggesting that frightening monsters might be arriving on the battlefield very soon. These include a mined sound file titled ‘AB_MIST_SPIDERS’ and a model of an egg nest listed as ‘PROWLER_MUD_NEST_HILL.’ The addition of these creepy creatures remains speculatory, but giant venomous spiders are highlighted in Caustic’s backstory and Prowlers are dangerous quadrupedal animals from the Titanfall series whose universe is shared with Apex Legends.

There has been no official word from developer Respawn Entertainment, but with leaked clues and Edgerly’s confirmation combined, the event’s existence is quickly becoming undeniable.

Expect to hear the event’s announcement in the coming weeks after players have been given an opportunity to better settle into the new season.
