Gladiators trade Fissure to Seoul Dynasty

MVP candidate and former Los Angeles Gladiators tank Chan-hyung “Fissure” Baek has been traded to the Seoul Dynasty.

Amid reports of Fissure’s conflicts with team members and a desire to transfer to a team that speaks Korean, the Gladiators released a statement announcing their first roster change of the off season by sending him to the Dynasty.

Charlie Lipsie, director of esports for the Gladiators, said in a press release. “He brought a lot to the team and we are thankful for what he has accomplished here. We have acquiesced to his wishes to be a part of a fully Korean roster, which he can find with the Dynasty.”

Fissure explained his decision during a stream, insisting that the split was amicable. He compared the situation to his departure from the London Spitfire, explaining that he was let go from the Spitfire with no warning, while the Gladiators included him in all discussions with other teams who made bids for his contract until he accepted the offer from the Dynasty. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Dynasty has had a number of postseason roster changes to their coaching staff. Head coach Lee “Hocury” Ho-cheol moved to the position of General Manager, while coaching staff members Yo-han “nuGget” Kim, Yoon-ho “Bubbly” Cho and Ho-cheol “Hocury” Lee have resigned.

The Dynasty have already overhauled their coaching staff after what was a disappointing inaugural season in the Overwatch League, but this is the first roster change seen from the team in the offseason. The team now sits at a full 12-man roster.
