G2 Caps shares why his team is happy with their role swap in LEC
Ramus “Caps” Winther shared with his fans more details about the G2 Esports role switch between him and Luka “Perkz” Perković.
G2 may have not started the 2020 LEC Spring Split performing as good as fans expected, but is still with no doubt the best team in the region. Even though some fans weren’t confident in Perkz and Caps switching their roles, mostly since Caps had never competed in a different role besides mid lane in his competitive history, the two players are proving this decision was a good one.
Caps and Perkz having more fun with their new roles in 2020 LEC
Two weeks into the tournament, the team has an undefeated 4-0 score. Caps shared with his fans why him moving to the bot lane is working for them out during a stream.
“I think me playing bot lane probably gives us a better chance of winning,” Caps said. “ADC is probably less fun than mid lane, I just like it as a role.”
Caps also added friendship and enjoyment is crucial for G2’s success, and with Perkz being back on his main role and Caps getting bored out of mid, and now both players are enjoying the game more.
“Playing [mid] all day every day just gets too much, and obviously, PerkZ has been playing bot lane for a full year so I think him being back on mid lane will be a lot fun for him,” Caps said. “And if it’s more fun from him, I think we’ll have a stronger team because a lot of our strength comes from us being really close to each other and having fun with the game.”
So far, both players are doing great in their respective roles. Caps is the second-best performing bot laner in the league with a 20.7 KDA, falling only behind his former Fnatic teammate Martin “Rekkles” Larsson. Perkz is expectedly the best performing mid laner so far in the 2020 LEC Spring Split.
this Friday, so fans are only likely to see further improvements from the team.
