Gamers are spoiled for choice these days. There are so many PC games now available with different intensity levels that there are plenty of great games to choose from regardless of genre preferences.

There are new games and remastered classics that can liven up a rainy weekend, or a rainy year or two. Here are four epic games to try out that will likely deliver some fun times.

Valorant

This is one addictive FPS that’s tough to put down. Published by Riot games, Valorant has the potential to dethrone the longtime tactical shooter king, Counter-Strike. It has a cast of characters to choose from and each of them comes with their own signature abilities in a round-based format.

Another interesting thing about this game is that, unlike rival hero shooters, most characters don’t have unlimited abilities. Players need to purchase a few charges each round, and need to balance their economy choosing between guns and skills. Check out the PC games download option to get started.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Anyone that enjoys open-world action games such as The Witcher 3, Assassin’s Creed, and Red Dead Redemption will surely like Horizon Zero Dawn. The game’s PC launch was mired by numerous performance issues, but those have been fixed and there have been many positive reviews in the months since. It sees the lead character of Aloy traverse through a post-apocalyptic world that mixes both futuristic and ancient technologies. The game mixes in survival elements that spice up the game in a way that separates it within the crowded genre.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most controversial games in recent history, but those issues largely surrounded the console release. The PC version is generally strong, with reasonably strong hardware. Players get to customize their character’s backstory and appearance, and can choose from tons of abilities to play with. The storyline and voice acting in this game can keep you hooked and in awe, if you don’t get caught up on the justified negativity surrounding the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

Wasteland 3

Looking for something turn-based? Wasteland 3 is a strong follow-up to the 2014 RPG that’s still accessible to newcomers to the series. You get to make strategic decisions that help humanity rebuild after a nuclear holocaust. The game is a tactical RPG in the same vein as Final Fantasy Tactics or X-Com and has a lot to offer.
