Fnatic signs Adam as new top laner for 2021 LEC Summer Split
It’s finally official that Fnatic will be fielding former Karmine Corp top laner Adam “Adam” Maanane as its starting top laner for the upcoming 2021 LEC Summer Split.
The rumors surrounding Adam joining Fnatic started weeks ago, but now it’s finally official. After a great split with Karmine Corp in the French LFL, Adam will now make his debut in the LEC this summer. Not only will he play his first LEC split, but he will also do it under one of the biggest organizations in League of Legends. The French top laner recently won the 2021 EU Masters Spring event and is considered one of the top talents not attached to a team in a major league.
With Adam joining Fnatic as its starting top laner,
Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau is expected to move. Luckily for Fnatic fans, it’s not expected that Bwipo will move to another team but instead to another role.
According to many rumors, Bwipo will be role swapping to the jungle and will act as the team’s leader from a brand new position.
This will leave room for Adam to prove himself as a top laner in the LEC and see if he can hang with Europe’s finest. For now, it’s expected that Adam will do well in the LEC but with the usual growing pains. Coming from Karmine Corp, Adam has faced stiff competition while still performing well for his team. With a recent EU Masters and LFL trophy in the bag, Adam will be able to step onto the big stage with lots of confidence.
Adam will obviously have to play against better players in the LEC, but under Fnatic he might just be the next big star in Europe. Fnatic has previously proven to have a good understanding of the top lane, with names Bwipo and Paul “sOAZ” Boyer having played in the position.
Fnatic could also use some fresh energy after failing to make the LEC final during the spring split. Fnatic was knocked out of the playoffs by Schalke 04 after a disappointing 0-3 series. This left Fnatic with one of the worst splits in years and a lot to be desired in the summer split. Improvements are needed for Fnatic to get a spot at the 2021 World Championship.
Adam will have his first game with Fnatic when the 2021 LEC Summer Split kicks off on June 11.
Update:
It didn’t take long after the announcement of Adam’s joining before Fnatic was ready to say more. The team has confirmed that Bwipo will be moving to the jungle position for the upcoming split. This also means that former jungler Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek will be leaving the team and will instead play for Vitality moving forward.

Wasif Ahmed
T1 just beat Karmine Corp 3-0 in the play-in stage of the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational. More importantly, T1 turned KC’s strengths into weaknesses. The bot lane and teamfight prowess that shone in the LEC were no match this time. The match started with Karmine Corp picking a disrespectful draft, blind picking three immobile squishies. Right off the bat, a botched invade put their jungle and bot lane at a disadvantage. ...
