Evil Geniuses adding MAD Lions' Peter Dun, building around Svenskeren
Evil Geniuses will reportedly be making big changes to its coaching staff for the 2021 season.
According to ESPN, Evil Geniuses is eying the former MAD Lions head of coach staff Peter Dun, who recently announced that he will be looking for new opportunities in 2021. If the deal goes through, Dun will become Evil Geniuses’ head coach and work to build up a team around star jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen.
Peter Dun will be replacing Heo “Irean” Yeong-cheol, who parted with the team just a few days ago. Despite big ambitions and a solid roster, EG didn’t manage to live up to expectations in 2020. The team placed third in the 2020 LCS Spring Split before getting knocked out of the playoffs in the summer. This saw Evil Geniuses miss out on the 2020 World Championship, making this news unsurprising.
Dun is coming to the LCS after coaching MAD Lions with great success. The team qualified for the World Championship with four rookies, getting knocked out in the play-in stage. Despite the short Worlds run, MAD Lions still performed better throughout the year than most fans would have expected. The development of MAD Lions’ rookies had been impressive and Dun has played a big part in that.

Evil Geniuses looking to build LCS team around Svenskeren
According to ESPN, Peter Dun will be looking to build the 2021 LCS roster around Svenskeren, who was the shining light of Evil Geniuses’ 2020 roster. It seems likely that EG will be parting ways with former world champion bot laner Bae “Bang” Jun-sik and will look to get another carry for the bot lane.
The other remaining players are still under contract, so it is unknown what other changes might be made. Even though the players are still under contract, there’s no guarantee that they get to start next season. EG has been willing to pay big money for players since the organization made its return to League of Legends for the 2020 season.
The LoL free agency window begins on November 16.
Expect Dun to begin signing new players as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Wasif Ahmed
T1 just beat Karmine Corp 3-0 in the play-in stage of the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational. More importantly, T1 turned KC’s strengths into weaknesses. The bot lane and teamfight prowess that shone in the LEC were no match this time. The match started with Karmine Corp picking a disrespectful draft, blind picking three immobile squishies. Right off the bat, a botched invade put their jungle and bot lane at a disadvantage. ...
