A new Ultimate Ninja Storm game has been announced, and with it comes an even more massive roster of Naruto characters.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is the newest arena fighting game from CyberConnect2. The long-running franchise is famous for its 3D recreations of iconic anime scenes and gargantuan roster, which has blown well past 100 unique fighters. Connections mark a turning point for the series, featuring Naruto’s son Boruto on equal footing with his father. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Ultimate Ninja Storm game from its intended release date

New Ultimate Ninja Storm release date is in 2023

The current planned release date for Naturo X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is not known, but the game is slated to come out sometime in 2023.

That planned release year was announced along with the reveal on February 23, 2023. At the end of the first look, the planned timeline was revealed as a stinger. Developer CyberConnect2 is known for constant releases, as Connections will be the 17th installment in the Ultimate Ninja franchise.

This means that the title will likely be released in the summer of 2023, but a later or earlier release is also possible. Summer marks a good time for release, as the season tends to be strong for video game sales. If September rolls around and the game still isn’t out, expect it sometime during the Christmas season.

New characters Ashura and Indra confirmed for Connections

In addition to confirming the release date, the reveal of Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections confirmed two new characters in Ashura and Indra.

The reveal trailer showed off two new characters for the series in Ashura and Indra, the sons of the Sage of the Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Though unknown for most of the series, these two characters play a major story role as the first incarnations of Naruto and Sasuke. They have similar personalities and abilities as the series protagonists, as shown off in the Boruto storyline.

Bandai Namco has also confirmed that more new characters will be announced for Connections closer to its December 31, 2023, release date. The list of remaining characters to add is small, but Anko Mitarashi is a commonly-requested addition that has yet to appear in the series.

The confirmed character roster for Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections will include at least 126 playable fighters. That number was also confirmed by the trailer, which showed off Indra and Asura Otsutsuki. In addition to new characters, the game will also feature a brand-new story mode with scenes from both the Naruto and Boruto series. The trailer showed off remastered content from previous games, confirming that the title will reach 60 frames per second on the newest console generation.

What platforms will Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections be on?

Here’s a list of all the confirmed platforms for Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.

The game will feature remastered cutscenes and story content from previous games, making Connections the best way to experience the system on modern hardware. In addition, players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series will get to enjoy 60 frames per second in gameplay, a first for the series.
