Every Pokemon has a type and that determines not only what their attacks are but what their weaknesses and strengths against other Pokemon are.

How many Pokemon types are there?

There are 18 Pokemon types. More and more types have arrived every few generations, introducing more dynamic matchups.

When you battle Pokemon, you’ll notice that some attacks do double the damage than they are supposed to. When that happens, it means that a Pokemon is weak to the other’s typing. Here’s which Pokemon types are weak to others so you can prepare for battle.
