The defending world champions from DWG KIA are back in form after taking down one of their biggest contenders, Gen.G.

The third week of the 2021 LCK season started out with a banger. So far, Gen.G has been looking like the biggest threat to take down DWG KIA so there were a lot of expectations going into the match. As predicted, Gen.G was able to compete with the world champions, but not enough to actually win. Over three games, DWG KIA secured the win against Gen.G and is now back on top of the LCK alongside Hanwha Life with a 4-1 record.

The series started out great for Gen.G, who managed to secure a lead through its strong early-game composition. Gen.G wasn’t allowed to snowball the game out of control, so DWG KIA was constantly within distance to turn the game around.

With strong team-fighting champions, DWK KIA slowly crawled back and got to a point where the win looked secure. Sadly for the world champions, a single misstep resulted in Gen.G getting the Baron, followed up by winning a miraculous team fight. In the blink of an eye, Gen.G took down the first Nexus of the series.

Being down 0-1 isn’t something DWG KIA is used to, but playing under pressure is where the team excels after all.

In game two, there was no doubt that DWG KIA was the best team. Gen.G didn’t get a single chance to win the game, with every DWG KIA member popping off. The game was already decided early on after top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha hit a beautiful four-man stun on Gnar. The team fight spiraled into a dominating win for DWG KIA after just 30 minutes.

After a dominant second game, DWG KIA continued with a lot of momentum in the deciding game. With bot laner Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun on Kai’Sa, there was nothing for Gen.G to do. After Ghost got a few kills, the snowball started to roll and DWG KIA once again proved that they are the kings of South Korea.

With an important win on the board, DWG KIA is now tied for first place with Hanwha Life in the LCK. Both teams are sitting at a 4-1 record and will already clash with each other on January 29.

Who is DWG KIA?

DWG KIA is formerly known as DAMWON Gaming and currently the defending world champions. After a fantastic 2020 season, DWG KIA crawled to the top of the LCK by dominating the 2020 LCK Summer Split, followed up by winning the 2020 World Championship. For 2021, DWG KIA will be looking to defend its titles starting out with winning the LCK once again.

What is the DWG KIA 2021 roster?

During the recent offseason, DWG KIA made a single roster swap. DWG KIA brought in former FunPlus Phoenix top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha to replace Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon.

The 2021 DWG KIA roster is:
