A week after Gui-un “Decay” Jang’s release from the Dallas Fuel, the Washington Justice has announced his signing for the remainder of the season.

Fan reaction to the news has been almost entirely positive. Decay was one of the bright spots for the Fuel during his time with the team and was often able to clutch fights and was known for his deep hero pool.

Alongside this is a general frustration with Dallas’ management. Fans are excited that he was at least able to be picked up by a new team shortly before the roster change window closed.

Decay’s time with Dallas Fuel ended in controversy

Back in June there were rumors that Decay had benched himself and was playing a lot of Valorant. These rumors were never substantiated. The timing of his release was also suspect since the trade window closed on July 31, just one day before his release. Recently, new roster construction rules were put in place that allowed his transfer to the Justice.

Last week, the Fuel released a statement which included Mike “Hastr0” Rufail team owner stating it is parting ways with the flex DPS player because he refused to work with organization staff.

“Decay had a few months left on his contract but refused to work with our staff. When a player refuses to practice, it is time for us to move on and give our players their best shot,” Hastr0 said in a Twitter post immediately after the announcement.

Even if Hastr0’s comments about Decay’s refusal to work with the team are true, Decay’s skills on the server have fans excited to see what’s next for him.

The Washington Justice has exactly one game remaining in its regular season against Countdown Cup Champion the San Francisco Shocks on August 22. Decay will likely be scrambling to build up his rapport with the team for the playoffs.
