The queen of rap, Nicky Minaj, will be a playable character in Call of Duty, entering the fray as the first IRL female operator in Activision’s shooter game.

Nicki Minaj will be a playable operator in Call of Duty Season 5. She’ll be available in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 from August 11, when COD celebrates 50 years of hip hop and rap.

Call of Duty has playable operator characters of many notable streamers, but now the game’s celebrating five decades of hip hop culture with chart-topping rappers. Season 5 will be a treat for fans of rap music, as they can pick their favorite artists as playable characters, including Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, and more.

Out of all, players are mostly excited about Onika joining the roster as the first self-named female operator. The Barbie World singer will have her own hot pink rifle as well, making her an attractive pick for the battle.

On July 27, Activision tore the curtain on a pink-clad Nicki Minaj, rocking a bubblegum pink wig and a blinding silver neckline. She’s also holding a rifle, matching her hot pink outfit. COD’s announcement rocked the gaming community, who hadn’t expected the queen of rap in a video game.

The developer described the COD Nicki as “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” referencing her 2023 song, claiming that this Nicki isn’t chill. Players will discover what that means when they get their hands on the new operator, but it sure sounds fierce.

According to Activision, Nicki will also have her own Store Bundle, which may include items like the hot pink rifle she’s holding in the image.

COD Season 5 will bring a slew of content to the games, including celebrity operator characters, skins, new locations, weapon updates, and more. That’s not all. Players will also get new War Tracks for free as part of the celebration.
