CLG looking to rebuild around Team Liquid’s Broxah in 2021 LCS
Counter Logic Gaming is reportedly starting the offseason by signing former Team Liquid jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen ahead of the 2021 LCS season.
Broxah will be joining CLG in 2021 according to Jacob Wolf, after a decent year with Team Liquid. Broxah joined the team ahead of the 2020 season but had his debut pushed back repeatedly due to visa issues, forcing Liquid to compete without the Danish jungler for much of the 2020 LCS Spring Split.
The unfortunate start to the year resulted in a disappointing ninth-place finish for TL in the spring, but they rebounded in the summer and managed to qualify for the 2020 World Championship. At Worlds, TL impressed during the play-in stage but was forced out of the group stage by G2 Esports and Suning.
After a fairly shaky year on TL, Broxah will move on to try his luck with CLG. The enduring organization didn’t perform well in 2020, finishing last in the 2020 LCS Spring Split and ninth in summer. The team clearly needs a breath of fresh air and is looking to make big moves ahead of the 2021 season.
What is CLG’s roster for the 2021 LCS season?
While the complete CLG roster isn’t official yet, it seems that the organization will be picking up former Rogue top laner Finn “Finn” Wiestål and keeping mid laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park and support Andy “Smoothie” Ta. The roster looks to be full of experienced players but might lack some individual playmaking potency.
Broxah has previously proven that he can be a carry jungler, but his performance in 2020 lacked aggression and initiative. He will look to build synergy with Pobelter, who was the only shining light for CLG in 2020.
CLG is likely to announce its official roster in the upcoming days.
