Riot Games accidentally leaked team strategies for pro team Jin Air Green Wings during a recent LCK broadcast.

During an early season bout between pro League teams Jin Air Green Wings and SK Telecom T1, an unfortunate camera shot leaked Jin Air’s pick and ban strategies. The camera captured a clear shot of the notebook held by assistant coach Choi “Alvingo” Byeong-cheol. The notes included the strategies the team intended to use in future matches.

A screenshot of the incident went viral and Riot Games faced immediate criticism. In an interview after the match, Jin Air head coach Han “H-Dragon” Sang-yong expressed his displeasure with the situation. Riot Games Korea quickly issued an apology to the team and promised the incident wouldn’t be repeated.

Riot is hosting the LCK Spring Split for the first time since the league’s founding. The decision for Riot to take over LCK broadcasts was first announced in 2018 and received a mixed response from the game’s Korean community.

Production moved from the OGN’s esports arena to LoL Park, a new facility opened in 2018 which debuted during the play-in stage of the 2018 World Championship.

Despite the new specialized venue, fans haven’t been entirely satisfied with Riot’s work thus far.

The fans feared the quality of the production would decrease under Riot’s command. Many expressed their support to OGN, the company that was in charge of the LCK for many years. This latest gaffe has only increased pressure on Riot to measure up to the standard set by OGN previously.

No matter what Riot does to make up for the error, there may be littling helping Jin Air Green Wings, who already sit in last place in the LCK.
