Bischu, Fragi, and Kyb find new homes in Overwatch League shuffle

Professional Overwatch players Joona “Fragi” Laine, Hyung-seok “Bischu” Kim, and Finley “Kyb” Adisi have been announced on Twitter to be moving teams.

The Philadelphia Fusion have traded Fragi to the Guangzhou Charge in exchange for Kyb. Fragi is a main tank player who saw a lot of action in Season 1 before Su-min “Sado” Kim made his return, and Kyb is a DPS player. Both have been on the bench for a while, which prompts fans to wonder if either of them will see the stage in the near future with their new and presumably more interested teams.

Bischu is joining Fragi at Guangzhou Charge, where he arrives after his previous stint with the Los Angeles Gladiators. Bischu is a well-known and respected off-tank, but missed part of the 2019 season due to illness. He’ll be looking to get back on track at his new home with the Charge.

The Charge currently plays Seungpyo “Rio” Oh and Hong-Jun “HOTBA” Choi as their tank front-line tank combination. HOTBA also started while on the Philadelphia Fusion roster and is regarded as a flex player. HOTBA could be seen on anything from D.va to Tracer, and since Fragi is a main tank who has experience playing alongside HOTBA, it’s possible the two could see the stage together to see if they still gel.

As for the addition of Kyb to the Fusion, the roster already touts a very experienced line of DPS players with Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee and Josh “Eqo” Corona. Simon “Snillo” Ekström is also still with the Fusion and has a two-way contract with the Fusion University Contenders team, but the squad could use a solid backup on the roster. Kyb fills out that spot very well.

These transfers come ahead of Stage 4. The Charge sits tied with the Chengdu Hunters at 12th place, and the team has some hard work ahead of it to make it to the Grand Finals. The Philadelphia Fusion are just a few spots away from securing their own spot in the playoffs, and the Gladiators are set to compete in the finals if the league standings remain as they are.

The Overwatch League Grand Finals takes place in Philadelphia on September 29.
