By the time you’re finished saying Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, the game’s release date will probably have rolled around.
The world of Atelier Ryza is coming to an end in the trilogy’s highly-anticipated final chapter. Combining traditional RPG combat with a deep alchemy system, the game seeks to satisfy players who want a story-driven adventure. Atelier Ryza 3 is confirmed to be the final game in the series, so fans of the series are likely looking forward to its bittersweet release date. Here’s all the info Gust has released about the upcoming JRPG crafting journey.
The planned release date for Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key is March 23, 2023.
The game was originally slated to release in February of this year, but developer Gust announced a delay for the title near the end of 2022. The extra month of polish will hopefully result in a smooth release. While Atelier Ryza 3 is a single-player experience, other RPGs have met with criticism over launch issues, including Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Developer Gust describes Atelier Ryza 3 as an “Alchemy RPG,” which references the main character’s profession as an alchemist. As in previous Atelier Ryza games, players will collect crafting ingredients throughout the travels. These can then be used as recipes to create valuable items used both in and out of combat.
One of the game’s selling points is its massive party size, which far surpasses previous entries in the series. Players will control up to 11 different new and returning characters, each with their own unique combat abilities. In addition, each character has a personal story that gamers will uncover as they play. As for that combat system, Atelier Ryza 3 keeps the hybrid turn-based and real-time system from previous installments with plenty of tweaks.
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key is confirmed to release on the following platforms on MarchÂ
Atelier Ryza 3 will come in three different editions, with the standard game costing $60. Koei Tecmo has revealed plans for a Digital Deluxe Version of the game but with no details on inclusions or pricing. The same is true for the Ultimate Edition, which will likely be a physical copy with several knickknacks and merchandise thrown in.
While Atelier Ryza 3 will be available on PC, Switch, and both PlayStation platforms, it will notably not have a release on the Xbox Series. The game is aimed straight at the JRPG crowd, who tend to prefer Sony and Nintendo consoles to Microsoft. Gamers with a Series S or X will need to purchase the game on a PC to experience it.
