Team Liquid’s new top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris is already proving himself as a great pick up after dealing the most damage per minute in the LCS Lock In so far.

After leaving Origen in the LEC to join up with Team Liquid for the 2021 LCS season, Alphari has lived up to all expectations so far. The British top laner is already showing why he was considered one of the best top laners in Europe, despite finishing at the bottom of the scoreboard in the 2020 LEC Summer Split. Alphari is showcasing his deep champion pool and individual skill in the LCS Lock In, where Liquid is currently looking like a strong contender for the trophy.

With just six games in total for Team Liquid, Alphari is rocking some impressive stats. The most notable is his damage per minute, which is currently the highest among all players in the LCS. With 598 damage per minute, he is already showing up as the damage-dealing carry that Team Liquid wanted for the top lane.

Besides his damage output per minute, Alphari has gotten a total of 29 kills. This is the most that any top laner has gotten, beating 100 Thieves’ top laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho with seven kills. If the damage and kills weren’t enough for the European top laner.

Team Liquid looking like a favorite in LCS Lock In

Alphari is consistently at the top of the charts when it comes to CS per minute, XP differential, and gold differential at 10 minutes. All in all, Alphari is dominating the top lane looking at the stats and it’s showing in Team Liquid’s results.

So far, Team Liquid has won five out of six games possible in the LCS Lock In. The single loss was against a well playing 100 Thieves squad, but Team Liquid quickly bounced back against Golden Guardians and Team SoloMid right after.

For the quarterfinals, Team Liquid quickly handled FlyQuest in a 2-0 sweep and will now look to do the same to Evil Geniuses in the semifinals. Based on individual and team performances, Team Liquid is currently looking like the biggest favorite to win the LCS Lock In. Both Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses have performed well throughout the tournament, but Team Liquid seems more consistent.

If Alphari and the rest of the Liquid crew can keep up the pace, they will likely have a great start to the season.

Team Liquid will face off against Evil Geniuses in the LCS Lock In semifinals on January 30.

Alphari

Who is Alphari in LoL?

Alphari is a 21-year-old top laner from the United Kingdom. He began his professional career back in 2015 on Enigma Esports. After playing on smaller European teams for a bit over a year, he joined Misfits Gaming for the 2016 summer split.

After staying with the team for over two years, Alphari was picked up by Origen for the 2019 season. Origen was returning to the biggest European LoL stage after securing a spot for the new franchised LEC league. On Origen, Alphari improved a lot and was considered maybe the best top laner in the region before heading off to Team Liquid for the 2021 season.

What role does Alphari play?

Alphari is a top laner and great at bruisers and tanks. Not only does Alphari master all the classic top-lane champions, but he is also able to play various carry champions such as Camille, Quinn, and Jayce.

Alphari is known for his big champion pool and ability to build up a sizable lead through the laning phase. Alphari’s individual skill is something very few top laners have, which makes him a valuable asset to any team.
