The Zenith is the ultimate weapon in Terraria, but what makes it the absolute best in the game?
Terraria is all about progression. Whether it’s working up to stronger ores or upgrading your build to take on bosses, there’s always another challenge on the horizon. However, even a massive game like Terraria has its limits, and that is the Zenith. This sword is the absolute best in the game, but building it will require you to conquer nearly every challenge the game can throw at you.
Here’s how to build the Zenith sword and what makes it the absolute best weapon in all of Terraria.
Building the Zenith sword is one of the hardest things to do in all of Terraria, with one of the longest ingredient lists in the entire game.
To build the Zenith sword, Terraria players will need all of the following weapons and a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil:
This essentially requires players to gather every top-tier and iconic sword in the game and combine them all into one. Notably, the list includes several swords that were, at one point, the strongest sword in the game. That exclusive club includes Meowmere, Terra Blade, and Seedler. With the Zenith now the strongest, it only makes sense to incorporate those swords into it.
The other half of the list is swords from pre-Hardmode. The Starfury and Bee Keeper are quite strong in the early game, and getting them early is a great start to any Terraria world. However, it’s not uncommon to trash them once the difficulty scales up. Of course, the Copper Shortsword, which is the game’s starting weapon, rounds out the list.
The Zenith is undoubtedly the strongest sword in Terraria as of update 1.4. It boasts the highest potential damage output, along with a number of powerful effects.
Stats-wise, the Zenith deals 190 damage per attack with strong knockback. While technically a sword, the weapon deals damage using a variety of projectiles that appear as the weapons used to craft it. This lightning-fast attack speed gives it the highest damage output in the game, especially with a good modifier like Legendary.

In addition, the weapon also has a few unique effects that boost its effective power even higher. The sword projectiles can deal damage through solid walls, allowing players to fight from safety. In addition, the attacks ignore enemy invincibility, allowing them to deal damage to bosses during phase changes.
The major downside to the Zenith is that it requires players to kill every major boss and clear every progression hurdle to acquire it. This means that any player who earns the Zenith doesn’t really have much to do with it. It will make clearing previous bosses a breeze, but its primary use is a status symbol to prove to everyone that you are very, very good at Terraria.
