Pobelter reveals he cried due to "doomed" environment at CLG

LCS veteran Eugene "Pobelter" Park recently opened up about the negative environment he experienced while competing for CounterLogic Gaming.

On Twitter, Pobelter responded to CLG's latest loss during the summer split, saying it was "painful to watch" because he knew the players on the team's roster are "way better than that." Pobelter blamed the team environment for their bad performance, calling it "WAY too negative" and "doomed."

"There's super, super high pressure and I don't think anyone can succeed or play with confidence under those circumstances," Pobelter tweeted.

In a follow-up tweet, Pobelter admitted that he "broke down crying" in front of CLG's coach the morning before the last match he played. This was due to the "sheer misery" he felt over the last few weeks.

This emotional admission coincides with previous details about CLG's toxic team environment. On July 12, CLG published a behind-the-scenes look at a private team meeting for their latest Bud Light Gaming Cooldown video. In the video, CLG general manager Daniel "Tafokints" Lee told the squad that there would be "significant roster changes" in the near future.

"I am looking at roster swaps. It’s been a little over two months, [and] we’re not really progressing. There are very likely going to be changes this week. I’m exploring options, so this might be the last time that we have this roster of five playing," Tafokints said.

The League of Legends community responded with concern for the video, with many being upset that it was posted publicly. As more prominent community members came forward with a negative reaction, CLG decided to take down the video.

"Our goal was to share an authentic moment with our fans and be as transparent as possible leading up to potential changes that may occur this week. We recognize the negative light that it brings to our players, and for that, we apologize and have taken down the video," CLG stated.

CLG hasn't been having a good run in the LCS. In response to Pobelter's admission, some fans stated that the team "died five years ago" and others called on the team to treat their players better. CLG has yet to respond to Pobelter's personal tweets.
