Virtus.pro signs AVANGAR hours after they lose at CS Summit 5

Virtus.pro officially completed acquisition of the AVANGAR roster early this morning,

Long-running esports organization Virtus.pro announced that they have signed the entire AVANGAR roster to contracts this morning. The announcement comes mere hours after the Virtus.pro roster failed to make the finals at CS Summit 5, losing to G2 Esports 2-1, and a little more than a week after a rumor hinted at VP’s intentions.

According to a post from the official Virtus.pro website, VP will not retain any of its current Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players on the active roster, including original VP member Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski. Snax was the lone remaining member on the roster that was part of VP’s initial CSGO singing.

AVANGAR’s roster transfer to VP could automatically rocket the team towards the top ten of the the world rankings. Due to the squad’s run of poor performances, they currently sit in 15th place in the world. This is well under where a team of this potential should be, and fans may see them come back into form with VP’s resources at their back.

VP’s AVANGAR CSGO roster acquisition is a smart move

Although the team hasn’t seen good results over the past several tournaments, they are more than capable of securing top placings at upcoming tournaments, especially under the supervision VP. Virtus.pro’s new roster is as follows.

VP couldn’t have picked a better time to make this type of move. VP clearly intends to compete for a major tournament title as soon as possible.

AVANGAR can take Virtus.pro back to the top five with strong placements that their first tournaments under the VP banner. According to the official press release, VP’s shiny new roster of young and talented players will debut at EPICENTER Moscow. The tournament takes place from December 17 to December 22, and CSGO fans who think they know how this new VP roster will perform .

The AVANGAR roster is capable of much. In September 2019, AVANGAR had a fantastic run thought the lower bracket before Astralis took them to class in the grand finals of the StarLadder Berlin Major.

The transfer also reunites former VP player AdreN with his old organization. AdreN played for VP from 2012 to 2013.

Following the dissolution of the original 2014 VP roster over the course of a year, former Virtus.pro player Paweł “byali” BielińskiJune exit marked the first time in five years that fans wouldn’t see the famous “Virtus.plow” on stage.

The nickname “Virtus.plow,” stems from the old roster’s tenancy roll over lesser opponents and occasionally dominate teams of their own caliber. VP hasn’t looked like that plow for sometime now. With the addition of the AVANGAR players, VP has released or benched the rest of its roster, truly and finally bringing an end to an era for the traditionally Polish CSGO team.
