Tricked Esports sell CSGO team to unknown buyer for massive sum
Tricked Esports has sold its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for $300,000.
The Danish organization has not yet revealed who the buyer is, but claimed on their official press release that "the sale bears good news" for the roster. According to Tricked Esports, the players will "take a seat much higher within the esports ecosystem" while being able to "hold onto every asset they own."
"In other words, they will not be picked apart as individuals and scattered across multiple teams but can continue their collective growth as a team. Together," they said.
This seemed to be a sentiment that Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen echoed on Twitter soon after the announcement.
"I'm really excited for the future together with my four boys! This team is something special," HUNDEN tweeted, referencing teammates Fredrik "roeJ" Jorgensen, Rasmus "sjuush" Beck, Frederik "acoR" Glydstrand, and Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen.
Tricked Esports CSGO history
Tricked Esports has been in the CSGO scene since 2014. With their now-former roster, the organization started to climb its way up the ranks.
The team won the V4 Future Sports Festival, took the number two spot in the Good Game League, and secured a slot in DreamHack Open Summer. Since the start of 2019, Tricked Esports has gone from the 77th-ranked team in the world to 21st.
This surge up the ranks has made the sudden sale all the more shocking, but Tricked stated that their busines model isn't to "have the single best team in the world within our ranks."
They continued: “Our ambition is to open our doors and generate new opportunities to young people, moving existing teams in the right direction as well as helping them reach their goals individually and as a team.”
So far, there's no update on Tricked Esports' roster future in the CSGO scene.
HUNDEN and his teammates will compete in DreamHack Open Winter on November 29. It's not yet known if they will be playing under their new organization's banner.
