Mongraal joins FaZe Clan as Fortnite team beefs up in wake of Tfue

FaZe Clan has added to its already stacked Fortnite roster by signing Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson from Team Secret.

Mongraal is known in the competitive Fortnite community for his impressive building skills and his strong competitive drive. He has already qualified for the Fortnite World Cup in both the solo and duo competitions.

Mongraal is currently teamed up with Martin “MrSavageM” Foss Anderson and Benjy “Benjyfishy” Fish for the trios section of upcoming Fortnite tournament.

The move to shore up FaZe Clan’s roster after the departure of Turner “Tfue” Tenney comes as no surprise, but to pick up a player like Mongraal so quickly is still a big coup. FaZe’s Fortnite roster is undeniably stacked in terms of both talented players and prolific content creators, and adding Mongraal brings either benefit to the table.

It seems as if FaZe Clan is looking to move past the controversy with former player and content creator Tfue and move into a new era for its Fortnite team, especially after snagging Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff.

Tfue and FaZe are currently embroiled in a lawsuit that could have wide repercussions for the overall future of esports and player contracts.

Tfue alleges that the contract given to him by FaZe is unenforceable by California labor laws, and that he should thus be free to pursue employment with another team or his own independence. Tfue alleges that FaZe’s stipulations built into his contract are wildly unjust, such as the option to take up to 80% of the money he gained from branded sponsorship deals.

FaZe Clan hasn’t exactly handled the proceedings of the lawsuit without error. The esports organization released a bizarre rap video featuring 12-year-old player H1ghsky1, and several high ranking members of FaZe Clan have released emotional videos on social media regrading the lawsuit.

The future of the suit may determine how esports contracts are written for the future, but the future of FaZe Clan in competition seems to be set with Mongraal joining.
