Dr. Junkenstein is returning to Overwatch once again.

Blizzard has announced the dates for Halloween Terror 2019. The event will run from October 15 to November 4.

The Overwatch Halloween Terror event typically runs from mid-October through early November. It is largely built around Junkenstein’s Revenge, a limited-time PVE game mode. The mode initially featured a team comprised of McCree, Soldier: 76, Ana, and Hanzo battling against waves of robotic enemies as well as boss characters that included reskinned versions of Mercy, Junkrat, Reaper, and Roadhog. The bosses are reimagined as classic monster movie villains.

Over the years, new wrinkles have been added to this setup including new bosses and new hero options for players. It is unknown what additions might be made to Junkenstein’s Revenge in 2019.

New Overwatch Halloween cosmetics and skins for 2019

Overwatch events consistently deliver new sets of cosmetics, which are often themed around the holiday or event they are commemorating. Halloween Terror is no different, adding the boss characters as skins while also tossing in other fun options like a Constantine-themed version of McCree and a Jason Vorhees-inspired look for Soldier: 76.

Odds are that Halloween Terror 2019 will follow suit. No skins were revealed for the event, but Blizzard has historically delivered in this regard and should add something fun here.

Walking Zenyatta coming to Overwatch?

The only cosmetic that has been revealed thus far is a new emote for Zenyatta that shows him descending to the ground, stretching his back, and shaking out his legs. The emote pays homage to the enduring meme regarding Zenyatta and his ability to walk. The hero has exclusively been shown floating cross-legged, leading many to question whether he was even capable of walking.

This is likely to only be the start of Blizzard’s Halloween Terror offering. The publisher will really need to over-deliver in order to lure fans back after its lingering PR struggles.
