xQc is banned from Twitch for a fifth time, but why?

One of Twitch’s biggest streamers is banned. Again. And his fans are desperate to know why.

Felix “xQc” Lengyel has been suddenly banned from Twitch and his fans are looking for answers. The ban occured early on August 14 but so far it has not been made clear by either xQc or Twitch what exactly led to the suspension. It’s also unclear how long the ban will last for this time around, seeing as it’s xQc’s fifth ban from the streaming platform. Depending on the offense, it’s possible xQc is permanently banned from Twitch, though this remains unlikely as xQc is one of the platform’s most popular streaming personalities.

xQc was banned just a couple of weeks ago in July. This short suspension was due to a DMCA strike because of xQc showing clips taken from the Olympic Games. At the time, xQc declared that that he was going to fight back against the DMCA strike with a counter-claim, attempting to have the strike dismissed. Some fans and other streamers were skeptical of his decision to get a lawyer involved and mount the legal challenge, most notably including Imane “Pokimane” Anys.

So far, xQc has not come forward with more information about this latest suspension.

Fans usually have theories about what may have led to popular streamers’ suspensions, but this one has taken most in the community by surprise. Many people are responding with shock and are now awaiting any kind of explanation as to the reason for the ban.

What happened to xQc?

It has recently been a difficult time for xQc. The streamer opened up about a breakup with his long-time girlfriend and former roommate as well as the stress of suddenly moving to a new home. xQc dealt with a scary home invasion earlier in 2021, leading to xQc moving in an attempt to remain safe. Then xQc had drama with the Olympics Committee for which he received a DMCA strike for showing the Olympics in a livestream, which led to his fourth ban from Twitch.

UPDATE: xQc had been unbanned from Twitch after less than 24 hours.
