The third week of the 2021 LCS Spring Season will bring a banger of a match between TSM and Evil Geniuses.

Both teams are fielding a new combination of players this season and have so far done well enough to be placed right behind the top teams. TSM is slightly ahead in the standings, with a four-game winning streak after playing flawlessly last week. This puts TSM at a shared third place with Dignitas. Evil Geniuses started out the season strong but has lost confidence, resulting in a current 3-3 record. This puts Evil Geniuses in the middle of the standings but one good week can change everything.

For TSM, this match will be important to carry on its momentum from week 2. TSM is currently on a four-game winning streak, after showcasing some clean League of Legends last week against Golden Guardians, Team Liquid, and Immortals respectively. It looks like the new TSM squad is finally starting to synergize, which has resulted in some great early games and macro play to snowball leads.

Going up against Evil Geniuses will be a hard task but could decide if TSM should be considered the best team in the league after showing great improvements. After recent games, it looks like the new TSM bot lane is starting to gel, which has resulted in carry performances from bot laner Lawrence “Lost” Hui, that many fans have been waiting for. With lost playing at a consistent level, all pieces of the TSM puzzle could finally be intact.

For Evil Geniuses, it’s quite the opposite after losing the last two games. Evil Geniuses started out the season strong but is slowly starting to lose momentum. With a very skilled lineup on paper, it’s expected that Evil Geniuses will bounce back but it’s hard to say when. As fans thought that Evil Geniuses might be able to compete with the best in the LCS, it currently looks like they are one or two steps behind.

To succeed, Evil Geniuses has to go back to playing around its strengths. Top laner Jeong “Impact” Eon-young has been crucial in all the wins so far and would be wise to play around. This means that Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen should put his focus towards the top lane and hope the rest of the team can withstand pressure. With Impact rolling, Evil Geniuses could potentially be a scary opponent for TSM.

TSM vs. Evil Geniuses expected to be a nail biter in LCS

On paper, both teams are very even and the odds reflect that. According to the bookmakers, TSM has a slight edge against Evil Geniuses but it’s likely to be close. Because of recent momentum, it’s fair to consider TSM the favorite as the team has won four games in a row. Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, has lost two games in a row and will look to bounce back.

A win for TSM gives an odds of 1.79 while Evil Geniuses is right behind at odds 1.90. The odds don’t get much closer than that, so everything will have to be decided on Summoner’s Rift.

The match between TSM and Evil Geniuses kicks off on February 19.
