Top Esports vs. DragonX: Worlds 2020 betting analysis, odds
Tournament favorites Top Esports will meet LCK second seed DragonX on the third day of the 2020 League of Legends World Championship group stage.
Top Esports enters the tournament with high expectations surrounding them, even though it’s the first Worlds appearance for the organization. Young players such as midlaner Zhuo “knight” Ding and support Liang “yuyanjia” Jia-Yuan will need to withstand the pressure from fans and perform like they have done throughout the season, reaching both LPL finals and winning one of them.
DRX will be coming into the tournament as the second seed of the LCK, even though many fans and experts consider them the weakest LCK team at the tournament. The team is led by Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon who was in peak form for the summer split, while veteran Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu in the bot lane will try to step it up in his first Worlds since 2018.
The focus of the match will be around the mid lane, where Knight and Chovy will be dueling to see who the best mid laner in the world is. To help out, the two junglers will also play a big part in the early game and will try to help their mid laners get ahead.
While most of the focus will be on Knight vs. Chovy, the bot lane will have an interesting showdown of its own. The Top Esports bot lane with Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo and Yuyanjia will most likely ne initiating fights, while Deft and support Ryu “Keria” Min-seok will try to keep things controlled.
There is no doubt that Top Esports will be the favorites to win the match and maybe even go through the group stage undefeated. With that said, Top Esports can’t underestimate its Korean opponents, because DRX is known to snowball a lead when it gets one.
Top Esports heavy favorites to beat DragonX at Worlds 2020
The tournament favorites are obviously entering the game as favorites, but bookmakers are getting a bit ahead of themselves here. Top Esports winning stands at 1.35, while DRX is a huge 2.95 underdog according to Winners.bet.
That lopsided line is standard across betting sites, but that’s arguably a bit took big a difference given the fact that this is a best-of-one. With that said, Top Esports has a big edge on paper and won’t go easy on DRX.
The game will be played on October 5.
