The “Build Request Failed” error in The Finals is mostly a server-side issue but some fixes seem to work for players.
The Finals is in full swing with its new game mode, gadgets, and weapons. But an error is keeping players from enjoying the game. The fatal error, “Build Request Failed,” prevents players from getting past the loading screen.
It appears mid-game for some, causing The Finals to crash. When players try to restart the game, they keep getting the fatal error. While the developers are well aware of the issue and are trying to fix it, some have discovered solutions that may work for you as well.
“We’re aware of an issue with launching the game right now, which reads: ‘Fatal Error – Build request failed.’ The team is on it, investigating and working hard to solve it ASAP,” The Finals developer said.
According to some players on Reddit, the error goes away when you play another game that uses the Easy Anti-cheat and then restart The Finals. This is a highly recommended fix that has worked for most players. For this to work, close The Finals, log into a different game — like Apex Legends or Fortnite — and then go back into The Finals.
If that doesn’t work, try restarting the game as an administrator. This is another solution that has worked for some.
According to the community, verifying game integrity doesn’t fix the issue, but some players claim that reinstalling the game resolves the error. In any case, the developer is working on a solution, and players should soon be able to enjoy the game without any hiccups.
