The best agents to play on Breeze, according to shroud
New Valorant map Breeze is unlike any other location in the game, and players are having a tough time figuring it out. Michael “shroud” Grzesiek recently discussed the topic and gave his thoughts on how to bag easy wins on Breeze.
The sixth Valorant map landed with a bang in the new patch, and it has been a smash hit among fans. The tropical location is vast and has a split middle area, which is a bit confusing for Valorant players so used to taking site control with a single smoke. Breeze’s long hallways will make any Sentinel main sweat and make the Operator a more fearsome weapon than ever before. Twitch streamer shroud’s pick list will certainly help you dominate on Breeze, but he wants you to set your Sentinels aside and focus on other agents that players won’t normally expect.
Sage, Yoru could be strong agents on Breeze
In his recent stream, the former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional player explained that Sentinels struggle on Breeze due to its large size. Cypher’s tripwire, Killjoy’s Turret, and so on aren’t enough to watch multiple angles, and you’ll eventually get flanked on. To effectively protect backlines, you need a proper agent like Sage in the Sentinel category.
“Maybe use Sage. You can probably use her in a similar way like you do in Icebox, cutting off halls,” shroud said.
In the Initiator category, shroud wants players to skip Breach and pick Skye. The Australian agent has a much effective kit with equally deadly flashes, making her a “better character.” Apart from these agents, shroud stressed that Reyna is the only duelist worth picking on Breeze.
“Reyna is probably the only duelist you want. Maybe if you wanna get spicy instead of Reyna you pick Yoru,” He said.
Duelists like Raze and Pheonix won’t be of much use on Breeze. Their kits shine on smaller maps where Pheonix can deal damage with his short walls and molotov. Raze won’t be able to clear out many angles either. Conversely, Reyna can execute hard pushes safely, thanks to her Dismiss ability. Yoru can also break through the barriers using his teleports that works wonders on larger maps.
Apart from these agents, shroud explained that controllers would be highly viable on the new map. Astra and Viper are his top picks as the two agents can block multiple angles. However, contrary to popular opinions, shroud doesn’t recommend picking three controllers. His ideal roster for Breeze is Astra, Viper, Skye, Sova, and a fifth agent as a flex.
